Film archives are currently in a phase of transition. New techniques for restoring works, and new ways of distributing, promoting, cataloging, and managing these objects has important impact for the work of archivists in every field. This transformation is so important that it may eventually affect the very mission of film archives and the form they take.
On 25-28 May 2019, the Eye International Conference will be hosting the 10th Women and the Silent Screen conference in Amsterdam.
"Activating the Archive. Audio-Visual Collections and Civic Engagement, Political Dissent and Societal Change." is the topic of this year's edition of the EYE International Conference, which will take place at EYE in Amsterdam from Saturday 26 May to Tuesday 29 May 2018.
The deadline for the submission of abstracts for "Besides the Screen Conference 2018 - Vaults, Archives, Clouds and Platforms: Archiving and Preservation in the 21st Century" was extended to 12nd April 2018. The conference is taking place in two stages at King’s College in London, UK on 2nd and 3rd July 2018 and then at CIAC-ISMAI in Porto, Portugal, on 5th and 6th July 2018).
