The poster of Michalis Kakogiannis’ “Electra” is one of Giorgos Vakirtzis’ artistic creations. It is a two-coloured lithography, red and green, of abstract design with non-pictorial elements. The rendering of the facial features has been supplanted by abstraction permeating the entire composition. Slender figures whose countenance reveals their unyielding resolve stand tall in front of the spectator, conveying the legend’s heroic character. The artist’s signature “G. Vakirtzis” appears at the bottom of the composition.
