But also less famous occurances are shown, for instance a sequence on Norwegian aviation history. The film encompasses the changes in all fields of Norwegian society, including art and culture, and the emigration to America. Many prominent people are featured, such as members of the Royal family, Fridtjov Nansen, Christian Michelsen, Winston Churchill, F.D. Roosevelt, Christian Krohg, Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson, Sigrid Undset, Knut Hamsun and Edvard Munch.
