  • Leírás: Giannina Fourier is a beautiful young widow, and mother of two children, who works as custodian of a factory. The woman is the object of unwanted attention of the factory foreman Garaud who, rejected, takes revenge by burning the plant and by shifting the blame on her. The woman is immediately arrested and separated from her children. After several years she manages to escape and begins to rebuild a new life in the city working as a bread peddler. This fragment shows Piazza Vittorio Veneto and the Church of Gran Madre di Dio, "disguised" as Paris, since the film is based on the well-known popular romance "La porteuse de pain" (1889) by Xavier de Montépin. The video is a copy from the film print held by the Museo Nazionale del Cinema.
