  • Descrizione: Documentary - Feature film essay about the use of pesticides in agriculture and their impact on human health.Spring. Blooming of gardens. Bird on a branch. A stork. Workers use protective measures and load sacks of stained grain into the truck. Stained grain is poured into a seeding-machine. Sowing. Animated pictures: stained crop and unstained crop is affect by various fungals. In the laboratory the technician uses protective measures and weighs the pesticide. Testings with mouse. Mouse is affected by pesticide and dies. Warehouse of chemical materials: premises are ventilated, pesticide is held hermetically. Workers use the protective measures when they work with pesticide. Three theatricalized situations of danger when working with pesticides. First situation: in the warehouse of chemical materials a warehouse keeper eats without using protective measures. He is intoxicated and gets the medical attention in the hospital. Second situation: worker Andrei pokes his hands into the stained grain, smokes, and gets intoxicates as well. Physicians provide a medical assistance. Third situation: Stepanov family at home, they eat bread baked by mother who has used the stained grain for baking; a heavy intoxication follows, parents visit their seriously sick son in the hospital; in the ward physicians inspect their daughter with limbs paralyzed and blindness threatened. Animated pictures: human body - a digestive and nervous system - is infringed by chemical materials. Workers prepare the stained grain for sowing, sew the inscription “Poisoned” down. Warehouse of chemical materials is locked. Vehicles that had transported pesticide affected grain are washed and disinfected intensively. Landscape. Cereals wave. Recovered worker Andrei sits on the horse, daughter of Stepanov hardly walks leaning on a stick, sits down on a bench in a sanatorium and admires the landscape.
