>> View ANF collection on EFG The Arhiva Nationala de Filme (ANF) was founded in 1957 as the only institution in Romania that collects, preserves and uses films for non-commercial purposes. Over the years, it has been active in finding and identifying films, cataloguing them and carrying out a series of studies on the history of Romanian cinema. It has been a member of FIAF since 1960 and of ACE since 1996. The ANF has two art cinemas, laboratories for cleaning, processing and duplicating films, as well as telecine equipment (since 1999), which allows the ANF to duplicate films and provide other services. The collections consist of 45,570 film titles (372,061 reels), while the library contains over 8,000 books, around 300,000 photographs, 20,000 posters, magazines, scripts, etc. The archive also has two cinemas for cinematheque activities.
