The Baltic Audiovisual Archival Council (BAAC) is accepting submissions for its 2023 Annual Conference in Riga, Latvia, from September 27 to 29, 2023. The conference aims to address the challenges faced by audiovisual heritage institutions in today's complex environment, including geopolitical tensions, limited resources, the impact of new technologies, and diverse stakeholder expectations.

The 8th Eye International Conference will take place in Amsterdam from 4 — 7 June 2023 and aims to extend the discussion on how audiovisual archives can inspire engagement with social and political causes. It focuses on the utilization and development of audio-visual collections as shared resources, emphasizing global and local projects and collaborations. It seeks contributions from various fields, practices, and regions to showcase diverse approaches to community-based audio-visual archiving.
On 20 March 2023, ARTE in collaboration with the Association of European Cinematheques (ACE) launched the second edition of ArteKino Classics. Under this label, ARTE will be showing rarely seen European films – true gems of the 7th art – as part of its linear and non-linear catalogue. This year’s programme includes some 20 films, including major works by Hungarian director Márta Mészáros, Swedish director Mai Zetterling and Czech director Vera Chytilová.
A project for an inclusive approach to cultural collections description: For decades, archives, museums and other cultural heritage institutions in Europe have described and catalogued the historical objects in their collections from the perspective of privileged groups, traditionally excluding the views and knowledge of minorities and their community identity.
