Description: The bishop, escorted by knights, makes Amfortas knight and protector of the Holy Grail. But the magicians Klingsor and Kondrie, servants of Satan and haters of the Grail, make Amfortas sin. The angel of God punishes him with a mysterious illness, which leads him to confess to the bishop the sin committed; this means that a new and worthy custodian must be designated for the Grail: it is Parsifal who comes forward this time. Klingsor and Kondrie try to induce also him to sin, accompanying him to the court of King Arthur and inviting him to an orgy - but Parsifal refuses the invitation, and is introduced by the bishop into the mysteries of the Holy Grail. The video is a copy from the film print held by the Museo Nazionale del Cinema and previously restored by the EYE Filmmuseum: 35mm, positive, acetate, 1030 m, 49’ at 18 fps, colour (Desmetcolor), Dutch intertitles, silent.
