Description: Ulysses bids farewell to his family and departs to join the Trojan War. Penelope is left alone behind with their son Telemachus. Ten years later she is grappling with the numerous suitors who are crowding her house, obliging her to choose a new husband. Meanwhile, Ulysses, after the fall of Troy, is returning home by sea; but only after several mishaps and pitfalls, that hold him away from home for another ten years, he will be able to return to Ithaca. The video is a copy from the film print held by the Museo Nazionale del Cinema and previously restored by the EYE Filmmuseum: 35mm, positive, acetate, 838 m, 40’ at 18 fps, colour (Desmetcolor), German intertitles, silent.
