Beskrivelse: From its congress, held in January 1946, illustration of the role of the U.J.R.F (Union de la Jeunesse Républicaine de France) in the Battle of Production and Reconstruction of France. After the battles of the Resistance and the Liberation, young people must continue to serve France through effort and work, enthusiasm and discipline. The U.J.R.F, through its press (Vaillant, Jeunesse Nouvelle, Filles de France, l'Avant-Garde...), its groups and its members, is the means of this mobilization. The speech of the president of the U.J.R.F., Raymond Guyot, is thus abundantly illustrated by scenes evoking the total mobilization of the youth and exalting the work: "Exhibition of the work of the young people", departure of young volunteers to clear and rebuild Le Havre, military training, services rendered to the population (wood cutting for the old people), presentation of a young foundryman with heroic productivity... The Vaillants are filmed as they gather in front of the statue of Bara, child-soldier of the French Revolution. Raymond Guyot also evokes the mobilization of young people to welcome the deportees with dignity and to make up for the negligence of the previous minister responsible for veterans (his name is not mentioned, but we can think that it was Henri Frenay). "Servir" ends with a sequence entirely devoted to the mine, the symbol of work (images of machines, trestles, the production barometer...) "Servir" is resolutely in line with the watchwords of the P.C.F. during and after the Liberation: Unite, fight, work, produce. We also find there the major idea defended by Thorez that the workers must "roll up their sleeves" to restore the country.
