Tomorrow, on 5 April, the new EYE film museum will open its doors to the general public. Located on the north shore of the river IJ in Amsterdam, the new building houses four cinemas, an exhibition space of 1200 square meters, the basement with the digitised collections, an educational room, museum shop and restaurant-café.
The new building will officially be inaugurated by Her Majesty Queen Beatrix today, on 4 April. This new Dutch home of film will enable filmmakers and visual artists alike, to showcase their works and their talents. The official opening is today, on April 4, by her Majesty the Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, followed by a string of opening events. EYE Film Institute is a partner of the European Film Gateway and currently makes available around 250 films via the portal.
