The collection had been assembled from various film and state archives by Deutsches Filminstitut - DIF, Filmarchiv Austria and Národní Filmový Archiv in the framework of the EU-funded project 'COLLATE: Collaboratory for Annotation, Indexing and Retrieval of Digitized Historical Archive Material'.
